Annabel Balance
Hi-Fi supported and documented a panel discussion lead by Karen Binns between emerging designer Annabel Ballance and Dior’s Design Director Lucy Beeden.
This initiative began with Ballance collaborating with a leading female menswear tailor, blending traditional British heritage with a new narrative; that women belong on Saville Row. Dior kindly supplied cloth for the project allowing Ballance to create a suit for Lucy Beeden, imbued with the idea that women’s tailoring can be as technically accomplished and steeped in history as men’s.
Dedicated to elevating women’s visibility in traditional tailoring, this project seeks to spark essential conversations that address and challenge imbalances within the fashion industry. As the first and only woman to receive the Menswear scholarship from Dior, Annabel Ballance draws from her years in the industry and experiences navigating it as a woman.
