Hi-Fi Application Criteria

WHO CAN APPLY

Hi-Fi supports emerging fashion designers at different stages of their development. Applicants must be graduates of a BA or MA fashion programme at a recognised university or higher education institution, with their graduate collection completed.

We are looking for designers with a strong and distinctive creative point of view, a clear understanding of their practice and the ambition to develop their work within the wider fashion industry.

Industry experience and/or existing press coverage is welcomed but not essential. Designers with a clear plan for developing, producing and selling their work are particularly encouraged to apply.

Applicants must be UK-based, except for those applying to the John Moore Project.

PROJECT SELECTION

Hi-Fi offers a range of creative project formats designed to support designers at different stages of their careers. These may include fashion presentations and runway shows, fashion films, campaign imagery, social content, creative direction, collaborations and other forms of creative support.

Applicants are invited to indicate which project format they feel would best support their work. However, Hi-Fi reserves the right to recommend an alternative format if we feel another project would be more relevant to the designer, their current stage of development or the needs of their practice.

Selection is based on the strength of the designer’s work, creative vision, potential and the suitability of the proposed project. We do not expect every applicant to have the same level of industry experience or existing platform.

APPLICATIONS

Applicants will be asked to provide information about themselves, their brand and their work, alongside supporting materials that allow the Hi-Fi team to understand their creative practice.

This may include a CV, portfolio, collection imagery, sketches, research, press coverage, website and/or social media links, as well as information about the designer’s current and future plans.

Applications will be reviewed by the Hi-Fi team and, where relevant, in consultation with members of our wider creative network.

Submitting an application does not guarantee selection or participation in a Hi-Fi project. Successful applicants will be contacted directly with further information about the proposed project and next steps.

If you are not selected for a particular project, you may be encouraged to apply again in the future as your practice develops. We may also retain applications for consideration for future Hi-Fi opportunities, where appropriate.

Hi-Fi reserves the right to determine which applicants are selected and which project format is most suitable for each designer.
