The idea to use letterpress was inspired by Onitsuka's 2010 campaign - a sneaker built using the 500 year old Japanese craft of Tansu. Hidden found this campaign inspiring because it fits with our beliefs that traditional trades are as important as ever in an age of quick-fix computer technology and pop-up Ikea furniture. we think letterpress shares the quality of creating unique artworks through craftsmanship and care with Tansu. We also like the campaign's acknowledgement that achieving a unique perfection which looks effortless should not necessarily be effortless.

Hidden created an advertorial in celebration of the legendary Japanese sportswear brand's 60th anniversary. A left-field fusion of recent forward-thinking Japanese and British cultural institutions: an Onitsuka Tiger trainer and Young British Artist Damien Hirst's iconic piece, 'Away From the Flock'.
All elements of the image were created by hand.
